Last time Amazon did a 50% off gift cards deal was with LivingSocial. It was $10 for a $20 gift card and they ended up selling 1.4 million of the gift cards.
Amazon is using this deal to lure people onto their Amazon local site. Hard to imagine it won’t work out for them. After all, who doesn’t want to take advantage of a gift card deal this good at an online merchant as good as Amazon?
